Maxwell Mizuhara
Maxwell Mizuhara has been the director of design and drafting services at Calabazas Creek Research, Inc. since 1996. Before joining CCR
he was principle designer for the Gyrotron Department at Varian Associates in Palo Alto, CA.
Maxwell Mizuhara has 47 years of experience in designing microwave tubes, including klystrons, traveling wave tubes, magnetron injection
guns, gridded and bonded-grid electron guns, gyro-amplifier tubes and gyrotrons. He recently completed the design of a 500 kV magnetron
injection gun for the University of Maryland's gyroklystron program, a 95 GHz gyro-amplifier, and the current 1 MW CW DOE gyrotron at
110 GHz. He is also principle designer for a 1.5 MW CW gyrotron with a multistage depressed collector for electron cyclotron heating,
development of an advanced gridded electron gun for radar and a 10 MW gyroklystron at W-Band for advanced accelerator applications.
Mr. Mizuhara is currently completing the mechanical design of a 15 kW CW klystron for the Jefferson National Laboratory superconducting
accelerator and a beam anlyzer for testing multiple beam electron guns.
