David Marsden
David Marsden manages CCR’s CAD operation and is responsible for mechanical design of hardware products built by the company. He is
highly proficient in 3D and 2D design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Mr. Marsden begins with computational designs generated by the
scientific staff and translates them into high vacuum, high voltage devices that can be built and tested. This is becoming more
challenging as CCR moves into high frequency development where tolerances and material characteristics often drive the computational
design. Mr. Marsden recently completed mechanical design for a 100 GHz backward wave oscillator, a pulsed magnet and electron gun for
a THz gyrotron, and a 650 GHz traveling wave tube. He is currently designing a multiple beam inductive output tube and a W-Band gyrotron.
Prior to joining CCR, Mr. Marsden worked as a Senior Mechanical Designer/Department Supervisor at Communications & Power Industries
(Palo Alto, CA) and as a Senior Mechanical Designer/CAD Operator at Varian Associates, Inc. (Palo Alto, CA). He holds an AA Degree in
Mechanical Drafting from Ohlone College in Fremont, CA.
